Tucked away in the iconic Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden, The Barbary tells a story of trade, travel and culture. The menu takes its culinary cues from the vast landscape of the Barbary Coast, from the Atlantic Coast through to the Mediterranean Sea, leading to the Middle East. The restaurant centres around a 24-seat zinc-topped horseshoe bar surrounding an open kitchen, where guests gather around a robata grill and tandoor oven.

Our menu celebrates smoke, spice and acidity, with dishes prepared in the purest way, with fire, whether it is grilling on coals or baking in clay ovens.

The wine list is concise and considered: some of our wines will have a long history, some will be organic or biodynamic, and all are wines with a story. We do love a story. Classic cocktails and non-alcoholic options are also available.

The Barbary is open daily for dinner from 5pm. Walk-ins are always welcome.
